Charles Dickens

Charles John Huffam Dickens was born in 1812. He was an English writer and social critic. He created some of the world's best-known fictional characters and is regarded by many as the greatest novelist of the Victorian era.

These are some of his most important works:

  • Nicholas Nickleby – 1838
  • The Old Curiosity Shop – 1840
  • Barnaby Rudge – 1841
  • David Copperfield – 1849

  • Great Expectations – 1860
  • The Mystery of Edwin Drood – 1870
